Mr. Mong

(°1982) is an all round artist based in Ghent.

Since the first time he sprayed his bike, he has been studying, practicing and executing illustrations of all sizes – from tiny drawings to large murals.

He honed his skills at LUCA School of Arts, where he studied animation. He began his professional career as an assistant for contemporary artist Jan De Cock.

Since then he created hundreds of personal and professional drawings, many of them populated by the characters from his own universe.

He built up exhibitions for himself and for fellow artists. He designed and built festival stages, painted murals, shaped sets, created props and wacky objects – all whilst keeping a firm foot in the street art scene.

Humor, horror, monkeys, girls with curls and rock ‘n’ roll make his heart beat a little faster. If he would have spare time, he would be drawing. Digital or analog. On paper, on a huge wall, or on whatever happens to be. It doesn’t really matter, as long it makes his veins pump.
